postcard exchange

In an attempt to break out of the everyday world of clients, projects, and technology, a group of design-minded friends decided to form a postcard exchange. Every month we would each design a postcard, based on the theme "signs of the season" and mail it to all the other members (about 10 people.)

For my postcards, I wanted to try to use techniques other than the computer for creating imagery, composition, and reproduction. I spent a lot of time at Kinko's, pushing their Xerox machines to the limit. Rubber stamps, xylene transfers, and sewing also came into play.

I find security in structure, so I further developed the seasonal theme and each of my postcards explored the classic concept, "To everything there is a season."
